Grow With Us!

We’re Mountain Valley, Unleashing the Potential of Extraordinary Individuals.

Donate here to the Grow With Us capital campaign and help Mountain Valley Developmental Services maintain its solid infrastructure as we continue the programs for all the intellectually and developmentally disabled participants and families we’ve served for over 50 years.

Adult Residential Services

Throughout the summer and into the fall we have been working to shore up the infrastructure of our Residential Services buildings. The “Grow With Us” capital campaign goal for these infrastructure projects is $150,000. In this stage of the “Grow With Us” campaign, we have also launched the Cozy Home Project with local partners CLEER, Habitat for Humanity of the Roaring Fork Valley, Rotary Club of Glenwood Springs and Defiance Thrift Store. The Cozy Home Project, which includes minor interior paint and exterior landscaping projects, will make our Group Homes more welcoming and cozier as the colder months approach.

Residential Services offers individuals 18 years and older a variety of living environments and training in areas that promote independence and self-sufficiency throughout their lives. Options range from supported living in apartments or with family to full personal care in Group Homes with 24/7 staffing and transportation. Of the many homes throughout Garfield and Eagle County where our residents live, we own 10 Group Homes and 3 apartments, plus our main office, Day Center, Mountain Valley Greenhouse and Mountain Valley Weaving Studio retail buildings in Glenwood Springs, and the Day Center site in Minturn. We have abundant resources that are in constant need of General Maintenance such as: major appliances, flooring, roofing, windows, and painting. Your support helps provide a functional and happy space for our residents.

Mountain Valley Weavers

This fall and winter, we’re focusing on much-needed improvements to the Weaving Studio located in the upstairs loft at 209 8th Street in Glenwood Springs. Since 1996, the Mountain Valley Weavers have woven more than textiles — they’ve woven community, confidence, and connection. As part of our “Grow With Us” capital campaign, we are seeking to raise $15,000 to support internal and external building updates, as well as general operating costs. We are happy to announce, in partnership with the CO Gives Foundation and the Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association, a Holiday Open House at the Mountain Valley Weavers studio, Thursday, 12/11, 3-5pm, 209 8th Street, featuring exquisitely crafted holiday gifts, seasonal treats, and the MVDS video premier

For 40 years the Weaving Studio has served as a welcoming retail space and gift shop, offering not only beautifully handcrafted items but also the rewarding experience of knowing each purchase supports a meaningful cause that empowers Mountain Valley participants to master the art of weaving and produce a vibrant array of hand-crafted goods. Their work is not only a testament to creativity and skill but also to independence and dignity. Your support ensures that this space continues to inspire and uplift.

Mountain Valley Greenhouse

The “Grow With Us” campaign kicked off May 1st to great success. It included the Greenhouse Open House & Picnic, which saw more activity opening day of the annual Spring Plant sale than in many years. We sold most of our tomatoes! This growing season, we have raised almost $10,000 more than in past years thanks to the lush and abundant plants and vegetables grown by MVDS adult services gardeners, and available weekdays at the Mountain Valley Greenhouse and the weekly Farmer’s Market in Glenwood Springs. With these funds we have been able to make much needed improvements to the greenhouse gardens and properties as well as gather volunteers to help finish the mosaic tile project in the Greenhouse 2 winter garden, which will be accessible to mobility-challenged staff and visitors. As the colder seasons looms, the Mountain Valley Greenhouse will be preparing its winter gardens and readying for the poinsettia and dried flower wreath holiday sales. Your support enables participants and staff to work in a fully operational and comfortable space.
