WAIT LIST HEARING INFORMATION
We need a significant turnout for the January 22nd Waitlist Hearing! I hope many of you are planning to come and have board members, families, folks in services, friends, and others joining you. Please note:
- GOAL: The intent of this effort is to raise awareness of community support for ending the wait and increasing provider sustainability. It’s a visibility campaign which is why it’s so important for people to show up. We have Alliance leadership testifying and HCPF will also present on their efforts to date.
- TIMING: Like most things at the Capitol, we have very little predictability. The hearing is scheduled to take place “upon adjournment” of the House and Senate floor which means we don’t know the beginning nor end time. If I were to guess, I’d expect it will start around 10am and likely end by 12pm.
- CLOTHING: Please wear blue so legislators can identify you as someone in support of ending the wait!
- TESTIMONY: In addition to HCPF and Alliance members who will be testifying as part of statutory requirement, there is opportunity for public testimony. We are hoping to carefully curate public engagement to ensure a streamlined message. That said, we can’t prohibit anyone from testifying, but we want to be sure there are not 200 people seeking to testify (legislators don’t typically appreciate that). However, if you have one or more individuals on the waiting list who could provide valuable testimony, please let us know! We want to make sure the voices of folks in services are raised!
WE HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE! Please see flyer below for more information.
